Qualification Lab

Located at Cicor’s site in Angers, France, the Qualification Lab provides accelerated EMC and radio compliance testing for a wide range of electronic products.

As a high-level certification laboratory, it supports rapid design validation and regulatory approval – from risk analysis to final qualification – and is fully integrated into Cicor’s global engineering network. The service operates independently of production and enables industry-leading turnaround times of just three weeks, compared to the typical six to eight weeks required by external labs.

An EMC expert supports each project through every development phase (from RAO to qualification), helping to mitigate compliance risks early and avoid costly redesigns. By testing design improvements in advance, the lab also helps reduce the total cost of mass production.

Services

  • Regulatory assistance and risk analysis required for CE marking under the Radio Equipment, EMC, Low Voltage (BT), and ATEX directives. Support is also available for international markets, including the United States and Canada.
  • EMC testing (ISO/IEC 17025 accredited) for both emission and immunity performance, covering a wide range of sectors, including aerospace & defence, industrial electronics, and medical devices.
  • Radio testing (ISO/IEC 17025 accredited) for wireless technologies including LoRa, Sigfox, Bluetooth, RFID, and Wi-Fi.
  • Electrical safety testing, primarily according to EN 61010-1 (measuring and industrial devices), EN 62368-1 (AV and ICT equipment) and EN 60335-x (household appliances)
  • Annual regulatory production checks for ECE R10 automotive compliance (ISO 17025 accredited).
  • Fast obsolescence qualification, enabling the validation of alternative components through test plan optimisation and internal testing.

Equipment

  • Full Anechoic Chamber (Faraday cage): 8.3 x 5.5 m, suitable for EMC and radio testing across a wide range of frequencies.
  • Reverberation Chamber with Mode Stirring (RCBM): Enables efficient high-field-strength testing for immunity validation.
  • Rohde & Schwarz ESW26 Receiver (26 GHz): Equipped with Time Domain Scan – up to 1,000× faster than conventional receivers.
  • Broadband antenna portfolio: Covers all required ranges from 10 kHz to 26 GHz.
  • High-power amplifiers: For immunity testing up to +600 V/m.
  • Pulse generators: For compliance with EN 61000-4-x and ISO 7637-x standards.
  • Dedicated free-space measurement site: For RFID performance testing and antenna characterisation.
