Cicor (SIX Swiss Exchange: CICN), a high-tech industrial group and international leader in the areas of printed circuit boards, microelectronics and electronic solutions, which is headquartered in Boudry (Switzerland), celebrates the 50th anniversary of Cicorel SA. What started as a small family firm became a renowned PCB manufacturer. Cicorel SA was first listed on the Swiss stock exchange in 1998 and now forms the Cicor Group together with nine other sites.
The boom in the watchmaking industry in the 1980s gave Cicorel a run on printed circuit boards at that time. The introduction of laser drilling was a revolution for the possibilities of printed circuit board manufacture. Even then, Cicorel always relied on the latest technologies to fulfil demanding customer requirements. Over the years, Cicorel S.A. became the international Cicor Group which was also able to make a name for itself in the Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) sector.
In 1994 Cicorel was awarded ISO 9001 certification and Cicorel Holding SA was founded by means of a management buy-out. It has been listed on the Swiss stock change since 24 April 1998. In 1999, the group moved from Crissier into the new, ultramodern main facility in Boudry in the canton of Neuchâtel. In 2005, the EMS division was founded with the takeover of Swisstronics Contract Manufacturing AG, Systel AG and Systronics Srl and Cicorel Holding AG was renamed Cicor Technologies. In 2007, the ME division was formed with the takeover of Reinhard Microtech in Ulm and Wangs and RHe in Radeberg. In 2008, ESG Holding Pte Ltd. was added (Asia Division) and in 2012 the sales office in the USA was opened.
What we have established over many years and picked up is now a knowledge which characterizes our company and of which we can be proud.
With roughly 1900 employees worldwide at ten production sites, the Cicor Group now supplies highquality, customized solutions for their customers in Europe, USA and Asia.
