Cicor to concentrate its Printed Circuit Boards Division sites – closure of Photochemie AG in Unterägeri

Cicor has confirmed the concentration of its PCB production sites in Switzerland and the decision to tighten up its operating processes at the conclusion of the consultation procedure. As an integral part of this plan, the Unterägeri site is to be closed and the manufacturing capacities transferred to Boudry by the end of February 2012. The related restructuring costs will have an adverse impact on the annual result of the Cicor Group for 2011.

43 jobs are affected by the closure of Photochemie AG in Unterägeri. The PCB Unit Boudry has been able to offer positions to ten employees. They include four staff members of the sales office. This office covers the German-speaking countries, Italy, England, Scandinavia and Israel and will continue to operate in the Unterägeri region.

Against the background of the market situation which remains difficult in the semiconductor industry and the collapse of demand for highly complex circuit boards in niche areas, the unification of manufacturing capacities will enable the PCB Division to optimize its organization and increase its operational efficiency.
