Quality FAIRS Technician

Primary Job Purpose:

Cicor Newport is customer led and we pride ourselves on technical capabilities to deliver customer needs.  You will engage a ‘customer first’ approach throughout the business to ensure product is correctly released to the necessary standards, leading the Quality function and managing both quality processes and the quality system. 

The Quality FAIRS Technician is responsible for supporting product realisation through the accurate creation and verification of AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) in compliance with aerospace and customer-specific requirements. Operating within the Quality function, the role ensures products are released to the required standards by maintaining strict adherence to AS9100 traceability, regulatory compliance, and documented quality processes.

This position requires a detail-oriented quality professional with strong technical drawing interpretation skills and experience within the aerospace industry. 

The role serves as a subject matter expert in AS9102 documentation, providing objective evidence of compliance, identifying non-conformances, and supporting continuous adherence to customer and industry standards.

The Quality FAIRS Technician works cross-functionally to ensure documentation accuracy, compliance integrity, and alignment with customer-first delivery expectations while supporting the overall effectiveness of the Quality Management System.

Requirements of the role

You will proactively drive product realisation with further duties including.

  • Create AS9102 FAIR reports in line with the latest revision 
  • Create Forms 1, 2, and 3 independently, using customer data packs, drawings, and internal ERP system to drive completion 
  • Understand PCB and Mechanical Drawings 
  • Follow the AS9100 traceability requirements 
  • Verify balloon drawing notes using an acceptable method and record results and controls used 

Understand concessions and verify where they are applicable.

Competency

Be a confident, knowledgeable subject matter expert, with the ability to communicate and provide objective evidence when demonstrating compliance, and reasoning for demonstrating what constitutes as non-compliance.

Qualifications/Skills/Personal Qualities 

The successful candidate will be a Quality professional with experience in the aerospace industry.  

You will have demonstrable experience with creation of AS9102 FAIRS to the latest revision, be able to determine verification methods and note controls in place to meet customer/industry requirements and compliance to customer drawings.
