Incoming Receiving Inspector
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Inspect incoming raw materials, components, and finished goods according to established inspection procedures and specifications.
- Verify quantities, part numbers, certifications, and documentation associated with received materials.
- Perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspections using measuring and testing equipment.
- Review material certifications, Certificates of Conformance (COCs), and other quality documentation for compliance.
- Accurately record inspection results and maintain quality records.
- Identify, document, and segregate nonconforming materials.
- Generate nonconformance reports and communicate findings to Quality, Purchasing, and suppliers as required.
- Assist in investigations related to supplier quality issues and corrective actions.
- Ensure materials are properly labeled and dispositioned following inspection.
- Maintain calibration awareness and proper use of inspection equipment.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to quality and receiving processes.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and quality standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent; ASQ CQIA (Certified Quality Improvement Associate) preferred.
- Minimum of 1–3 years of quality inspection, receiving inspection, or manufacturing experience preferred.
- Knowledge ISO-13485 standard.
- Must pass IPC-A-610 training within six months and renew every two years.
- Proficient use of calipers, micrometers, microscopes and other inspection aids.
- Proficient use of computers and software including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Able to read and understand work instructions, assembly drawings and routing cards.
- Able to work independently to resolve issues with escalation to management, as needed.
- Able to communicate effectively and professionally with all departments and job levels.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must pass a Jaeger eye exam for near vision acuity with corrective lenses, if needed.
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable sitting up to 80% of the time.
- For Cleanroom: Able to stand for long periods of time, up to 80% of the work shift
OPTONAL EXPERIENCE OR QUALIFICATIONS:
- IPC-A-600 certification
- Receiving Inspection and/or Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Data analysis
