HW Engineer

Bucharest, Romania

Cicor Medtec is a multidisciplinary product development design and engineering company focused on the development of active medical devices.
A typical project usually starts with a feasibility study which implies research and investigation of different implementation options, giving you the opportunity to innovate and influence the product concept.
Subsequent stages involve a mixture of detailed electronic design work, optimal component selection, schematic capture, circuit simulation, layout consultation, EMC performance optimization, prototyping, hardware debugging and analysis. After the industrialization process, the final version of the design is manufactured at one of our production facilities.
During all the design stages there is a strong collaboration with the mechanical and software team to ensure the implementation of the optimal solution in both technical and timely manner.

Your Role/Responsibilities

  • Analyze product requirements and translate them into board-level architecture, circuit concepts, and schematic designs.
  • Develop, validate, and commission analog and digital circuit blocks, including but not limited to Analog Front End, MCU, Battery Management System, Battery Charger, Fuel-Gauge.
  • Contribute to the development of electronic systems for applications such as health-tracking devices, optical PPG systems, IVD devices and IoT base stations using BLE/LTE/Wi-Fi wireless technologies, and implantable medical devices using MICS communication technology.
  • Schematic design and review, component selection, and circuit prototyping
  • Carry out PCB layout design activities.
  • Develop test system designs for product PCBAs, covering control boards, rack equipment selection, setup, BOM definition, test procedures, verification, and validation activities.
  • Perform prototype bring-up, debugging, electrical testing, and iterative design refinements.
  • Document design, development, testing, verification, and validation activities in accordance with applicable medical device regulations and standards, including ISO 13485, CE MDR 2017/745, and IEC 60601-1 and IEC 60601-1-2.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and technical investigations to identify and evaluate possible implementations for customer and product requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with firmware, mechanical, quality, regulatory, production, and project management teams.
  • Build trust-based relationships with customers, stakeholders, suppliers, and internal development teams.
