Process Engineering
At Cicors manufacturing sites, engineers are permanently working on processes, to provide our customers with products that are compliant with the highest quality standards at a competitive cost level.
The main process engineering tasks are:
- Definition of process parameters and test procedures based on required efficiency and effectivity
- Optimizing productivity and product quality by developing and implementing new procedures
- Process tracking and monitoring
- Providing documents relevant for operation, like work instructions, check lists as well as control- and maintenance – plans
- Training of operators
- Elaborating equipment specifications, define acceptance criteria and release for production
- Support evaluation and qualification of new materials
- Align their activities with international standards and sustainability
- Evaluation of materials needed for assembly, e.g. solder-pastes, stencils, glues, bonding wires, cleaning agents and others
- Definition of solder paste printing process, reflow profiles and wire bonding parameters
- Optimizing Plastic injection moulding tools to improve process quality, time and cost
- Simulating the injection moulding process to assess the output
- Evaluation and qualification of new plastic types or new suppliers
- Support the automation process
- Evaluation and implementation of new substrate materials, printing pastes and metal systems.
- Drive process development towards new fields of application like biocompatibility, high frequency applications, improved thermal management and others
- Support the ongoing miniaturization process of PCBs by implementing alternative patterning methods.
- Implementation of new manufacturing methods in the area of plating, photolithography and laser machining
